With the unprecedented rise in the number of people working remotely, nothing short of revolutionary is taking place in the way we work. Some changes are positive and others not so much – it’s not all entirely clear yet. This sparked productivity and tactical concerns from business leaders. Indeed, there might have never been a time where openness to new practices and adaptability have been in such high demand. For new mindsets and behaviours to be implemented, a great shift towards a higher focus on the role of culture needs to be made. That’s why it has become crucial for DevOps Coaches to find creative solutions to continue being catalysts for change.

In this episode of DevOps Voices, Dimitri de Ruiter discusses what sort of strategies DevOps Coaches are finding to surpass the challenges brought up by the rise of remote work. Importantly, Dimitri also discusses what makes DevOps Coaches so important to organisations applying DevOps. Unmissable.

DevOps Agile Skills Association (DASA) is an independent and open members-driven association supporting DevOps journeys around the world through training, certification and knowledge sharing.

THE DASA DEVOPS CERTIFICATION SCHEME The role of the IT professional will become more generic as DevOps teams develop and IT people become more multi-skilled. DASA identifies three broad areas of expertise, and developed a certification program designed for each profile. These programs test the practical skills and experience of professionals who feel most related to these profiles.

DASA DEVOPS COMPETENCE MODEL The DASA DevOps Competence Model describes the essential skills needed in a DevOps team. DASA has identified 4 skill areas, and 8 knowledge areas, and outlined what the expected behaviour or knowledge is for each of these 12 capabilities.

DASA DEVOPS PRINCIPLES Many definitions of DevOps exist, and many of them adequately explain one or more aspects that are important to find flow in the delivery of IT services. Instead of trying to state a comprehensive definition on our own, we prefer highlighting six DevOps principles we deem essential when adopting or migrating to a DevOps way of working.
