2019 was a successful year for DASA. Thanks to all of you around the world for contributing to our fast-growing DevOps community!
Building on the momentum of the previous years, 2019 continued with strong growth and adoption of DASA DevOps in the global marketplace. DASA expanded its footprint into new markets and introduced new certifications such as the DASA DevOps Coach program. We were on the ground with our global partners, almost every week and organized two DASA DevOps Enterprise Leadership Forum events. In parallel, we on-boarded impressive DASA Ambassadors, and among many other things, DASA completed the classification of a large set of non-DASA courses to the DASA SkillsMap. We were delighted with the confirmation from learners and enterprises that DASA’s approach for developing High Performing Teams is working. DASA’s thought leadership in DevOps competence building was resonating so well last year that the number of followers (and engagement) on social media more than doubled in the previous 12 months.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2019, DevOps gained traction and became a talking point at the highest organizational level. In 2019 more organizations showcased extraordinary results by adopting DevOps ways of working than ever before. However, a larger group of organizations experienced they still have a long way to go, and decision-makers realized “doing DevOps” isn’t easy and certainly doesn’t happen overnight. This realization was a big driver for DASA’s in 2019 as organizations started looking for solutions and guidance to convert to high performing teams. Most of them used to focus primarily on DevOps Tooling, and in 2019 we noticed a substantial shift to strengthen DevOps Team members with new skills and knowledge to meet today’s standards for delivering successful, digital products and services as a team.
DASA’s global & open-members driven community saw many new partners and enterprises joining from all corners of the world. When being asked why new partners joined our community, the answers revolved around (1) DASA’s approach and thought leadership towards developing High Performing Teams with DASA’s unique Competence Model and (2) DASA’s active, visible and inclusive DevOps community focused on knowledge sharing.
2019 also marked a special moment as Deborah Burton, DASA’s Managing Director, left the organization. Deborah has been instrumental in DASA’s success, and her passion was contagious and inspired many of us. Deborah will remain closely connected with DASA as Advisory Board Member and contributor to the DASA DevOps Enterprise Leadership Forum. Over the last months, we have absorbed and distributed Deborah’s activities, and we will provide you more organizational updates in the coming weeks. We wish Deborah lots of success and fun in her exciting new role as CEO of Instruqt.
DASA’s journey is still young, it only started 3.5 years ago, and we have an exciting future ahead of us. The area of DevOps competence development and high performing teams will only become more critical for organizations and professional careers. We are grateful for working with experts like you to make an impact on organizations and professionals around the world and supporting them in their careers.
On behalf of DASA, I wish you a fantastic 2020, and we look forward to teaming up to drive and further support the growing demand and adoption of DASA DevOps in the market.
